Nowadays you can't even buy a 12oz soda can at the local gas station anymore everything is 16oz or more
The relentless increase in soda can sizes is a troubling trend. Not long ago, an 8oz soda was considered a standard serving, then it jumped to 12oz. now the average size can or bottle you can buy at the convenience store is 16 to 20 ounces.
At local gas stations, finding a 12oz can is nearly impossible, with 16oz tall cans dominating the shelves.
Bigger soda can sizes also makes people drink more than they should, making it seem normal to drink a lot of soda.
Of course you know what this is going to lead to. It's obvious:
Health issues but who cares?
This upsizing in soda can sizes means people are drinking a lot more sugar than ever before. When the can of soda in your hands is bigger, it's easy to consume way more sugar in one sitting without realizing it. This extra sugar can create health problems like obesity, diabetes, and heart disease a lot worse.
More sugar means higher blood sugar levels, increasing the risk of diabetes. I think you get the point.
Long story short...
When it comes to the things that I crave once in awhile, the kind of things I know is bad for my health, I prefer buying smaller sizes. That's all I am saying. I consume the smallest portion that I purchase and then that's it. Taste buds are satisfied and life goes on!
They are certain things I do not leave in my house like a three-liter bottle of soda or a 12 pack for that matter. I will drink it all.
If I have a craving for soda, I prefer buying the smallest can of soda possible and I buy it on the road. I don't take it home.
Just like cheesecake. when I crave cheesecake I buy a slice. I never go to the store to buy the entire cheesecake.
Oh my God! M&Ms come in a "share size". I buy it, I eat it, and I don't share. We are all guilty of this supersize problem.
McDonalds and other fast food companies used to biggie size. Now the soda manufacturers are doing the same.
You know what I mean?
