The lady walks into my car, I tell her I speak a little bit of Spanish and off she goes
Have you ever had an experience where you tell somebody I speak just a little bit of a foreign language and suddenly there go off in a 15 minute conversation with you like you understand everything there saying?
This is what happened to me today.
I told my rideshare passenger that I speak a little bit of Spanish, enough to get what I need and to help her get where she needs to go.
All of a sudden, she starts a conversation about something that lasted did entire 30 minutes trip.
I did not understand 90% of what she was saying but, in trying to be nice, I kept naughty and saying:
Es Verdad? (Oh really?)
Oh Wow!
I guess it worked. She probably thought I understood everything she was saying because she kept on going and going like the Energizer Bunny.
