All New York City playgrounds officially closed due to coronavirus pandemic
New York City's Governor has decided to close down all public playgrounds because of the continuing spread of the Coronavirus. Open spaces in the parks will remain open, however the playgrounds are off-limits.
There are no children playing at this playground on Lincoln Avenue in New Rochelle New York
Parks are open and the virus kept on spreading in New York.
So as a precaution, Governor Andrew Cuomo announced on April 1st that the state will close down all the city playgrounds.
Governor Cuomo told City residents to use the open space in the parks to walk around and get some sun but no close contact. Maintain the social distancing rule.
