When Love Hurts... Your Feet
One day, I was getting ready to go out with my girlfriend. It wasn't anything fancy, just a casual walk--but you know how that goes. You still want to look good.
I had two sneaker options:
One was absolutely beautiful, the kind that makes your feet look like they should be in a magazine ad.
The other? Plain, worn-in, super comfortable, but let's be honest--nothing to brag about.
Now here's the catch: that beautiful sneaker? It always gives me pain. The sole of my foot starts hurting after 20 minutes, but it looks so good.
So naturally, I reach for the comfy ones. But my girlfriend? She stops me cold.
"Wear the other ones," she says.
"Honey, those hurt my feet," I reply.
"But they look good!" she insists.
And that, my friends, is how I ended up walking around in pain, smiling through foot cramps to keep my girlfriend happy.
By the time we got back home, I had one of the biggest foot sores you could imagine. I peeled off those sneakers and sat there wondering: Where do we draw the line?
Do we dress to please the people we love, or do we say "forget fashion" and choose our own comfort?
They say love hurts--well, sometimes it hurts your feet too.
